Next week happens to be half term for a lot of parents – luckily for us Monday and Tuesday are pretty much covered – especially if you are celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
If you aren’t you may want to follow @thebiglunch on Twitter for street parties, or visit The Big Lunch website.
Well Fanta (yep the soft drink people) is giving away a craft fun pack which you can sign up for online. It has teamed up with designer Linda Barker to give parents some hands-on craft ideas that will help mums and teens while away the hours having fun together. The pack includes bold, fruity stencils that can be used to customise t-shirts, ideas for fruity desserts and other home-made craft ideas that will get help bring out your child’s creative side.
Linda says: “Whether mums want to get crafty with their teens this half term, or if they just fancy a bit of ‘me time’ to make something for themselves, the Fanta Fun Pack has got something for everyone. From cookery to clothing, there are activities to suit every taste and ability. The crafts are simple, easy to do and offer great end results that look fabulous and, in some cases, taste great too!”
Other things to do this half term that don’t cost a thing include:
Books – if you haven’t already join your local library and make use of all those free books. Toddlers and little ones love books and what better time to start them on a great habit – reading. You can find you local library via your county council website eg Essex libraries or Herts libraries. If you’re not sure, search via Google.
Swimming- Kelloggs free swimming vouchers are valid until 1 January 2013. Find out more at the Free Swim website.
